Peace
Once the peace sign was designed for one of the first major campaigns for nuclear disarmament. The artist Gerald Holtom derived the so-called CND symbol of maritime semaphore alphabet. The C stands for "Campaign" , the N for "Nuclear" and D for "disarmament".
