Spring Chicken
Chicken babies are real nidicolous birds, fit so perfectly into the Easter ensemble. In comparison to the Easter Bunny, which is known as a nice Easter tradition since late antiquity, the chick is a relatively new symbol of Easter. Together with the egg it is an ancient germanic pagan symbol of life and fertility. The oldest evidence probably came from the 17th Century.
