Purple is a broken color between Red and Blue. Violet, however, is a purely short-wave affair. A pure color stimulus in the short-wavelength edge of the rainbow of high symbolic value. Violet or Purple stands for imagination, sensitivity, intuition, self-confidence, individuality, diplomacy, charm, seduction and creativity, unfortunately, sometimes for melancholy and seriousness. In christian view it is the color of reflection, repentance and introspection, liturgically it is for Advent and Easter.
